Pacifica Length & Strength Mineral Mascara in “Stellar Gaze”

Color: 5/5

Thickness: 2/5

Lifespan: 2/5

Brand: 5/5

Overall: 3.5/5

The Pacifica Length & Strength Mineral Mascara in “Stellar Gaze” applies as a dark black, which is what is advertised as. However, the mascara applies very thin; you need to layer this in order to add any length. This is disappointing, as the mascara is advertised as something that will add volume. Some of the mascara will stay in place all day, but it constantly is giving me raccoon eyes, as it gradually comes off on its own. The mascara then needs to be wiped from under my eyes and sometimes even reapplied.

The reason I tried this mascara is because of its brand. Pacifica is a vegan and cruelty-free company, which is very important to me. I admit, most of my makeup isn’t vegan or cruelty-free, but I am trying to make the transition to a more guilt-free makeup routine. The brand makes up for some of the flaws of the mascara, but I probably wouldn’t buy it again. I would rather find a guilt-free mascara that stays on all day, even if I do need to layer it when I apply.

  1. I love Pacifica so it’s a shame this mascara wasn’t great. I do recommend their blush!

For cruelty-free mascara, I love BWC’s waterproof one. For thick lashes I love Urban Decay’s ‘Big Fatty’ and ‘Perversion’ (if parent companies are not an issue). For a good cheapie waterproof, I like Barry M’s ‘That’s How I Roll’, though it takes some layering if you want it thick. I use it more for day-to-day and use thicker Urban Decay ones for evenings/occasions.

Also, ELF do a waterproof top coat, which I find helps with some of my smudgier mascaras. It’s super-cheap so worth a try. 🙂
